Arisen Women Foundation is a Non-profit organisation who has been working in Mitchells Plain for the past 21 years. • Mitchells Plain has been synonymous with high substance usage, unemployment, crime, low socio-economic status, absent parents, school drop-outs and high teenage pregnancy resulting in an increase in poverty and trauma exposure which leads to poor scholastic results for children and parents struggling to deal with trauma, poverty and domestic violence. We have responded to the need of the community through the Community Oriented Primary Health care services that focuses on the health and welfare of individuals from pregnancy, to dying as well as psychosocial support.
